ALCAN Andy
ALCAN Andy
Road & Weather Specialist | Northland Radio
If there’s a pothole or a frost heave between Dawson Creek and Delta Junction, ALCAN Andy knows exactly where it is. A Northland legend since the early '70s, Andy cut his teeth on the Alaska Pipeline and the fishing docks of Homer before dedicating his career to the Alaska roads working for the State.
Rising from a highway laborer to a Shift Supervisor for some of the most remote road camps, Andy earned his nickname through decades of grit maintaining the Alaska side of the 1,400-mile lifeline that connects Alaska to the world - the ALCAN Highway. Now in his early 70s, he’s traded the snowplow for the microphone as an AI Announcer for Northland Radio, bringing a lifetime of "boots-on-the-ground" expertise to our daily road and weather reports.
When Andy talks road safety, Alaska listens. Catch his reports daily to stay ahead of the storm. (AI image and backstory)
